Sound of… All Neon Like Love
“Don’t be confused by the title. I made this playlist for the Undercover Soundtrack blog — see Press — where I talked about the music that both inspired All Neon Like Love and soundtracks its key moments, but this is very much what I was listening to as I wrote the book. And it doesn't come more eclectic. Highlights include Abel Korzeniowski’s soundtrack for A Single Man, Bernard Hermann’s score for Hitchcock’s Vertigo, Dusty Springfield’s Spooky, Tindersticks’s soundtrack for French revenge flick Les Salauds and the nasty industrial snarl of Nine Inch Nails’s Closer. But the moment that really captures the essence is Umebayashi Shigeru's sad waltz 'Yumeji's Theme' from the film In The Mood For Love. It’s a mix for sure, but there’s beauty in all of it.”
